Case Study: Ken’s Project: Jasraj

The Brief
To include tall appliances that works well with the vaulted ceiling. We incorporated an island design that allows seating for at least 4. Whilst not compromising that working space around the kitchen.

The island here was created from Corian, which allowed us to design the unique shape of the island as Corian can be cut and formed in any way, shape or size.

The appliances were Siemens, both the extractor fan and the ovens, with an American style fridge freezer as the centre piece of the back wall.
The surrounding wall around the tall housing was built out to work with the vaulted ceiling.

A sleek handle less kitchen, makes the kitchen feel modern. The clean lines bring a feeling of spaciousness to the room.

THE PLAN

plan1

Mix of wood grain, dark pine colours with a shiny magnolia. The correct proportions in the blend of wood grain and shiny light colours gives definition and identifies each part of the design as a feature

The dark piece is an accent colour that is often used as a design feature to visually focus the eyes on, when working with other dimensional features like vaulted or flopping ceilings. “It ticked all the boxes”

The curved island shape also allows for social interaction with family as they’re able to sit opposite each other.
