For this month’s Design of the Month, we have chosen Mr and Mrs Dilworth’s kitchen, which was designed by Chris. It is a Hacker kitchen, using gloss magnolia and satin beige grey.
The kitchen was modelled on the design of our front window display here in the showroom, and we just love the soft colours and sleek look. Curved base units add to the design, by allowing soft corners and making the best use of the floor space.
The Hi-Macs worktop by LG is an additional bonus in this kitchen. The colour, Almond, compliments the harmonious kitchen by blending in with the lighter colour units, whilst on the practical side no joints can be seen, as well as the moulded sink and drainer grooves which appear to be all made of one piece, and allow the whole thing to be easy to clean and look sleek and simple.
Mr and Mrs Dilworth’s kitchen has ample natural lighting, supplied from the large skylight, and double glazed back doors. Additional simple spotlights in the ceiling provide lighting in the evening.
The hob, centred in the peninsular requires extraction, but an island extractor (one that hangs over the island) would obstruct the view and complicate the simple look, so a pop-up extractor was used, which literally pops-up out of the island when needed, providing suitable extraction whilst cooking.
We love this kitchen, and we hope that Mr and Mrs Dilworth continue to enjoy it for many years to come.
